The History Of Printing

Who discovered a new way to multiply writing (no manual how to do by the end of XIV century) was the German Johannes Gensfleisch, known as the Gutemberg. Because of clashes in his hometown, Mainz, between the old patrician families and craft guilds in full ascent, we had to take refuge in Strasbourg in 1428.
After the death of his brother, in 1444, Gutenberg returned to Mainz, to continue his experiments in the direction of printing of written texts.
Substantive issues confronting printers before, and that Gutenberg try to find a solution, was used for each matrix compact printer. Using this matrix makes it impossible to correct errors, it is necessary to fully restore and reuse them in other prints could not take into account. When Gutenberg found an ideal solution, that use mobile characters, each representing one letter or a graphic sign. Arranging letters in separate cassettes made relatively easy picking text, alignment problems only appear when calculating the length of letters and rows, so they are nicely framed and balanced on the page.
In 1445, in Mainz, Gutenberg printed an excerpt from ”The Book “, namely the German poetry of the fourteenth century.
